My wish sort of came true!

A listener informed me that Santa came early this year (Ew, not like that! get your minds out of the gutter):

GNTM episode 2 (3/3): elimination

Heidi Klum is the host for Germany's Next Top Model!
Maybe for Christmas she'll take out Tyra! Best pressie ever.

p.s. They must have even less money than ANTM. The set is terrible. It looks like one of those hotels you go to for a convention. And at one point, you can see one of the camera men. hmmph.

  • Lower budget or not -- I think GNTM trumps our version because of Heidi and the liberal use of contemporary pop songs. I mean, they had Alanis, INXS, that song from the Romeo and Juliet soundtrack, Robbie Williams, Britney Spears and others I'm sure I'm missing -- and all in like 9 minutes (oh -- brilliant use of the Halloween theme for that one girls pseudo-elimination). Admittedly, my German is pretty shitty (and non-existent), but it sounded like Heidi name-checked "Victoria Secret" -- and the photos were lingerie shots -- perhaps they actually got a REAL sponsor on GNTM. I love Tyra and all (for all the wrong reasons), but Heidi has one-upped her at every step in their respective careers: better S.I cover shot: Check; Better runway model: Check; Better V.S. model: Check; Seal as Baby Daddy: Check; Better stateside reality show: Check; (Tyra won't get an Emmy nod until they start counting "camp" as criteria) and now, better NTM host -- I give the edge to Heidi, just for stroking that loser girl's hair post-elimination. Tyra only does that if they agree to go on her talk show and confess to being date-raped.

  • I agree the GNTM was way more interesting and I don't even know German. Plus did you notice the models were a lot prettier?!

  • Agree with Christina & Beka. They sent those girls to New York during the 2nd episode(if not mistaken)!!! Get Giselle Bundchen to judge one of the challenge!!!
